Speewah Legend Footrace Review by Ryan Lindsay
Last week I had a run through the rainforest. as did 49 other souls.
We spent our ANZAC day public holiday hurtling down steep descents webbed with treacherous roots, fording running creeks and scaling steep slippery inclines in the inaugural Speewah Legend Footrace. And what a challenge!!
Now I am no great runner but I have, for what ever reason (self-loathing, guilt or stupidity) thrown myself into such events as The Six Foot Track in the Blue Mountains and Run The Great Walk at Airlie Beach. No question about it, they are sensational runs. But The Speewah Legend Footrace really opened my eyes. We have some of the most spectacular trail running here in our own backyard. Every inch of the Speewah Legend Footrace was as spectacular as either of those other nationally recognised races. And its right here, just up the road!
There was only one striking difference. I don’t believe I smiled all they way through either of the other two events.
Thanks Shane. Thanks Chris.
See you at the Goldfields Trail Gold Rush!!!!
