Ben Abell takes 50th Pyramid Race

Six Months ago most of us hadn’t heard of Ben Abell. Hailing from Newcastle, Ben has travelled north early in 2009 to complete a TAFE Cert 4 Outdoor Ed course. He started Rogaining at the Herberton Hammer & Tongs event on April 26th. More recently Ben has won the Cairns Roadrunners Half Marathon [1:17:46] and placed 8th in the Gold Coast half Marathon in a super fast time of 1:12:41.

Saturday August 15th culminates Ben’s rise to fame in winning this years Pyramid Race in a time of 1:23:12, not the record, but a great achievement for a first attempt.
