Interested in Bush Navigation? Here’s your opportunity to learn Map Reading, Use of Compass, Cross Country Navigation and more in a friendly bush environment.


What’s it all about?
Bush or Cross Country Navigation is not difficult, and once learned can be an invaluable life skill.
This training program is aimed at both novice and semi-experienced rogainers. The day will be adapted to the number of participants and their level of navigation experience, and will consist of both theory and hands-on exercises.
Topics to be covered include Navigation, use of Compasses, reading Topographic Maps, Course Planning, Nutrition and lots more.

What to bring
- Good Walking / Hiking shoes
- Clothing for a day in the bush
- Morning tea/ trail mix/ lunch/ afternoon tea
- Water bottle / Hydration bladder
- Compass (we have several that are available if needed)
- Writing Pad & Pen
- Sunscreen & Insect Repellent

- Maps, training material, Course completion certificate.

We recommend car pooling.

Accommodation
No accommodation necessary but if you wish to stay overnight to enter the 3 hour Rogaine Sunday morning, Saturday night camping at Sundowner is available free.
