Minimum Impact Trail Running
The Dirty Northern Trail Running Series aims to minimise the collective carbon and environmental footprint of each event. All Trail events are selected with scenery and running enjoyment considered and we like to think the events showcase some of the best runs through some of the most scenic locations in the Wet Tropics. Before, during and after each event runners, supporters and spectators are encouraged to follow standard ‘leave no trace’ environmental guidelines.
This is an essential component of permit criteria and vital to the success of future permit applications. In addition to these guidelines, when determining transport to and from events, please consider contacting event coordinators to offer or request a lift (to or with other competitors) where possible. The event coordinators will consider waste elimination and resource use a priority in all purchasing and event planning. In particular please note, NO DISPOSABLE CUPS ARE AVAILABLE ON THE COURSES OR AT THE FINISH (nor plates or cutlery for that matter) – Consider this when making a hydration plan for the event and post event re hydration. We greatly respect your cooperation.
