OnaMission 2012 – Sunday September 9th



What it’s all about?

This multisport event takes place through some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia with a paddle to Dunk Island followed by a challenging run over mount Kootaloo before returning to the mainland for a mountain bike ride over beaches and then through Licuala state forest finishing with a final beach run. The bulk of the event is off road with only 5km of sealed sections in the bike course.

Social

This event has been designed for those who are moderately fit and seeking to experience adventure racing in a format that is fun in the outdoors. It involves hiking/running, canoeing off Mission Beach and mountain biking.

  • 8km paddle, 23km MTB, 11km run

Sport

For those with a sporting background who would like to experience multisport racing in a short course format. Create a challenging, yet achievable adventure in the outdoors.

  • 12km paddle, 28km MTB, 17km run
All Competitors will receive a Cool Max race shirt.

Compete as an individual, team or relay with short or long course options. Bring your corporate team!

$5 P/P camping accommodation is available at Frogs Hollow – Contact OnaMission Admin
Plenty of accom available at South Mission and Mission Beaches from Luxury Resort style to Caravan Park.

Canoe Hire
Adventure Equipment have advised that due to changes to hire fleet, they are presently unable to offer craft for this event, however may be able to provide advice on new or second hand craft availability.

How to get there

South Mission Beach

Turn east onto the Tully/ Mission Beach Rd. Turn right onto South Mission Beach Rd. At intersection of South Mission Beach Road and Kennedy Esplanade locate a parking spot, then head north up Kennedy Esplanade to the South Mission Beach Surf Club.
