Who are we

Adventure Sport enthusiasts range from 4 years old taking mum & dad out for an airing to 70+ year old grandparents who at times trounce the guns. There is a huge cross over between people who compete in Multisport/ Adventure Races and Rogaines & Trail Running.

Adventure Sport participants develop a deep appreciation and respect for the natural environment, while participating in a multi-skilled outdoor activity which can include hiking, running, mountain-biking, cross country navigation, canoeing, kayaking, sea kayaking, rafting and socialising.

Our membership is over 2000 strong and we regularly have 120 to 150 competitors in our events.
No matter your skill or fitness – adventure sport has something to offer you!

What we do

Multisport Racing

Running four major events every year these races entice beginners to professionals in a series of multisport events. Unlike triathlons we get you off the beaten track and competing in mountain biking, trail running and canoeing/kayaking.

Rogaining

The sport of long distance cross-country navigation. In a rogaine, teams of two to five people visit as many checkpoints as they wish in a set time period. Checkpoints (termed “controls”) are scored differently depending on level of difficulty in reaching them; therefore teams must employ their own strategy.

Metrogaines

The hugely popular 1 hour week night Metrogaines have become a feature on Rogaining NQ’s calendar. Involving a street map with no street names, 24 checkpoints strategically located in North Queensland suburbs and a team of 2 to 5 people Metrogaining is fast becoming THE outdoor activity to be involved in. Trail Running

It is not uncommon for trail runs to take place on either hiking trails, single track trails and fire roads. The trails tend to traverse varying terrain; hills, mountains, deserts, forests, and narrow passages are common. Likewise, steep inclines or rough terrain sometimes may require hiking or scrambling. Trail running events will be advertised on our blog.
